TRUE HEALING

Christ bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins,

might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed (1 Peter 2:24).

There seems to be a lot of emphasis on physical healing in churches…that is the focus of prayer lists…and there are healing services.  The focus on physical healing can become just that…a focus on physical healing.  But Jesus never physically healed anyone to healing sakes.  His healing was always for His sake…to reveal the reality of His divine life -- the only true life there is and ever will be.

I believe the primary focus on our preconceived idea of physical healing can subtly tempt us with the lie that we are not complete.  Therefore, it can be a temptation to get our focus off of the cross where we have been made complete through our identification with Christ.  For in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him (Colossians 2:9-10).

As we grow to focus on God’s unconditional, redemptive love for us, instead of focusing only on physical healing, we “see” that we are already healed in the truest sense, and therefore we are free to trust God to use our physical conditions for His glory and our greatest good!   We can minister the life of Christ through whatever physical healing God provides.

Do you need a healing touch from the Great Physician?  We all do.  There is no waiting room for anyone who will come to Him.
