CHRIST, ETERNAL LIFE NOW

If then you were raised with Christ [past, not future!], seek those things which are above [now, not future!], where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God [now, not future!]. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died [past, not future!], and your life is hidden with Christ in God [now, not future!] (Colossians 3:1-3).

Satan’s goal is to get our focus off of the glorious truth of LIFE IN CHRIST NOW in order to steal the glory of Christ (His very life) shining through us. We are tempted to focus on the future, instead of focusing on the present life of Christ in us NOW. I used to view dying and going to heaven as future events. Yet Colossians 3:4 says that I have already died and gone to heaven!

I don’t understand this in my mind, but I believe it with all my heart of faith. Now, this doesn’t take away from the fact that a child of God will indeed physically die and go to heaven… but this will happen only as a consummation of a reality that has already taken place through the cross.
